As we approach the one-year anniversary of Amazon Haul’s launch, Amazon have expanded its reach. Amazon’s discount storefront launches into Spain, marking its latest effort to directly challenge the rising dominance of the popular low-cost platforms like AliExpress and Temu in the European market.
This move shows the growing confidence that Amazon have in this expanding segment. The giant hopes to capture significant consumer interest with Haul by leveraging low pricing alongside its reputation for trust and logistics.

Amazon take on Temu and AliExpress
as discount site Haul launches in Spain
What is Amazon Haul?
If you haven’t heard of Haul, it operates as a standalone store within the Amazon site and app. It’s been built as a distinct shopping experience, complete with its own search engine, shopping cart, and payment method.
If you’re considering giving Haul a look, here are some of the core features you can find,
- Ultra-Low Pricing: The store’s inventory primarily consists of products priced under 20 euros. The vast majority of items are reportedly even cheaper, often under €10, with some products available for as little as €1.
- Product Range: Categories offered span fashion, home, and lifestyle goods.
- Amazon Trust: Despite the deep discounts, Amazon emphasises that all products meet their normal high standards. Haul products go through the same safety and quality checks as items on the standard Amazon marketplace and carry the usual Amazon customer ratings.
Strategic Expansion into the Spanish Market
The launch in Spain follows similar rollouts of the Haul storefront earlier this year in both the United Kingdom and Germany.
Amazon’s choice to prioritise Spain is a clear response to the competitive landscape. Chinese platforms specialising in cheap goods, most notably Shein and Temu, have seen rapid and significant growth within Spain in recent years. This has compelled Amazon to create its dedicated offering to maintain its market share against these aggressive challengers.
Commenting on the launch, Ruth Díaz, general manager at Amazon Spain, highlighted the value proposition for local shoppers.
“At Amazon, we innovate every day to respond to what customers want and need; and we know that finding great products at very low prices is important to our customers in Spain. We are delighted to be able to offer even more savings options through Amazon Haul, without sacrificing the trust, security, and customer service that Amazon offers.”
